Dr Crookston’s Guest House, Camden
Nestled within the grounds of a stunning 19th-century heritage-listed estate in the heart of charming Camden, Dr Crookston’s Guest House will gently transport you back in time.
Historical elegance with small-town hospitality
The stay where time stands still
From the tranquil gardens to the grandeur of the main house, a stay at Dr Crookston’s is an invitation to journey through time and relish a bygone era of splendour.
Originally built circa 1880s by the region’s founding family, The Macarthurs, our lovingly converted guest house on our classic Victorian-era estate whisks you away to a genteel time when life moved at a slower rhythm.
While the main house was once home to the town’s various doctors – most famously, Dr Crookston – the guest house was originally the cook’s quarters. Almost a century and a half later, it retains its old-world charm and classic B&B ambience while providing tasteful, modern comforts and conveniences.
With private quarters boasting elegant period details surrounded by a lush green courtyard bordered by stately Jacarandas and just a short stroll from the heart of Camden town, Dr Crookston’s perfectly captures the essence of Victorian-era elegance and Australian architectural heritage.
Whether you’re curling up with a good book in your private lounge as the winter chill sets in or unwinding with a crisp Chardonnay in the summer as the bells of St John’s chime through the courtyard, this quaint sanctuary suspended in time will enchant you. Through every season, we invite you to immerse yourself in the spirit of our little historical hideaway and the dreamy nostalgia of days gone by.
